Dormant account: find the activity that starts the clock

A dormant casino account is one that has been inactive under the account's applicable rules. The activity counted, inactivity period and consequences depend on the operator and jurisdiction. Dormancy can affect access or a remaining balance, but it does not automatically mean the account is closed or all funds are forfeited.

Qualifying activity starts the operator-defined inactivity clock and any applicable notice, fee or reactivation terms
There is no universal inactivity period.

Your last login may be the wrong starting date

In this hypothetical example, you last placed a bet in April and logged in during June to look at the balance. If the relevant condition counts logins, June matters. If it counts qualifying gambling activity, that visit may leave April as the starting point. These dates illustrate the difference; they do not set an inactivity deadline.

Find the actual definition before assuming that a login, withdrawal request or contact with support resets the clock. A clause about being inactive needs both a qualifying activity and a period. Rules for the licensed market may also restrict the fees or treatment of money left in the account.

Read the clause as an account instruction

  1. Activity and date

Identify what counts as use, when the last qualifying activity occurred, and how the inactivity period is measured.

  2. Balance treatment

Check whether a charge is permitted, its amount or calculation, how often it applies, and which funds it can affect. A disclosed fee is not the same as a right to take the entire balance.

  3. Notice

Find what warning is required and where it is sent. Keep contact details current and preserve any notice with its date.

  4. Recovery or closure

Look for the route to restore access, return remaining money or close the account. Ask support to identify the applicable clause if that route is unclear.

Recover the existing funds before adding more

Dormancy is not a diagnosis for every blocked account

A withdrawal review, an identity check, account closure and self-exclusion are different conditions. The inactivity clause alone cannot explain them, and reactivation may be unavailable where another restriction applies. Use the status message or written explanation to identify the actual issue.

If access is restored and you want to withdraw the remaining funds, check the cashout process. Placing bets to make the account active puts that balance at risk. The withdrawal guide explains what to record between a request and receipt.

Is there one inactivity period for every casino?

No. Use the applicable account terms and licensed-market rules. A period quoted by one operator or regulator should not be assumed to apply everywhere.

Does dormant mean the balance has already been charged?

No. The status and a charge are separate facts. Check the balance history, the fee condition and any required notice before attributing a deduction to dormancy.
