Payments and bet settlement
Cashout: withdrawing money or settling a bet?
In a casino account, cashout usually means withdrawing eligible funds to a payment method. At a physical casino it can mean exchanging chips for money. A sportsbook's Cash Out feature does something else: it settles an open bet early at an offered value, leaving the return in your gambling account.
Look at what the button changes
| Cashout context | What happens | Where the money goes |
|---|---|---|
| Casino cashier withdrawal | A request is made to pay eligible account funds through a supported method. | Outside the gambling account once the payment is received. |
| Sportsbook Cash Out | An open bet is settled at the accepted offer instead of waiting for its original outcome. | Into the gambling account; withdrawal is a separate step. |
| Physical casino chip redemption | Eligible chips are exchanged at the cashier. | To the player as money, subject to the cashier's procedures. |
A withdrawal has more than one stage
- Requested
The cashier has recorded your instruction
Keep the request reference, amount, method and time. A pending request is not evidence that funds have reached the destination.
- Approved or sent
The operator reports progress
Read the status description. An approval may precede payment processing; a sent status can precede arrival. Ask for a payment reference if the reported transfer cannot be located.
- Received
The destination confirms the money
Check the bank, payment account or wallet record and the amount credited. Compare it with the request, allowing for any disclosed fees or conversion.
The visible balance is not always the cashout amount
A displayed total may contain bonus funds, restricted winnings or money already reserved for a withdrawal. Check the cashier's available-to-withdraw amount and the conditions attached to it. Reaching a particular balance does not clear those conditions.
If the request stays pending, follow its actual status and any specific information request. If you can reverse the withdrawal, returning the money to play cancels that attempt to receive it. Neither action establishes how long a future request will take.
An early settlement can realise a loss
Suppose a sports bet cost $100 and an early settlement offer would return $65 in total. Accepting that hypothetical offer gives a $35 loss on the bet. The offered amount is a settlement value, not necessarily a return of the original stake plus extra money.
Offers can change, disappear or fail to complete. Check for confirmation that the bet was actually settled. Even after the return is credited to the betting balance, a separate withdrawal is needed to move it out. For the wider payment process, use the withdrawal guide.
Continue with the question that matters
- Understand a pending request
Separate a cashier status from payment received.
- What reversing a withdrawal changes
Funds returned to play remain exposed to further bets.
- Follow a withdrawal from request to receipt
